Description

Phytates, also known as phytic acid or inositol hexakisphosphate (IP6), are naturally occurring compounds found in plant seeds, including grains, legumes, nuts, and oilseeds. They are the principal storage form of phosphorus in these tissues. Phytates can bind to certain dietary minerals, such as iron, zinc, calcium, and magnesium, potentially reducing their absorption. While often considered an antinutrient, phytates may also possess antioxidant and anticancer properties.
